Damn 1k that sucks.
I had 4 wisdom teeth taken out earlier this year...bill came out to $2,500.
I paid nothing out of pocket and my health insurance from my job covered everything

Where do you live? My jerk-off dentist quoted me $1200 for a crown. Hungary is the dental capital of the world. The best! Stalin designated that area to be where all Russian leaders get their teeth taken care of. Very cheap. And extremely beautiful. One dentist picks you up at the airport in Vienna and drives you to a wonderful city on the Danube where Franz Lizst lived awrote music. All for 1/3 rd of what they charge in USA. Go there...Google Hungarian dentists. Costa Rica is very cheap too!!

That is the reason this guys ride fabulous rides, as well as lawyers etc.
My country has state sponsored health care, but it sucks so much that you have to get your own dentist...which will rip you off like this guy did.
Once I went to very "famous" dentist, for regular control. BEFORE I even showed my teeth, this guy was trying to sell me braces for 3k EUR! Can you imagine that? I waitied for him to finish, without letting out a word (some 45 minutes of his time) and said: "I just came for control". The guy was so pissed that we didn't want to do anything with me any more.

for heaven sakes, man! BE THANKFUL you had the money! if there is ANYTHING worth the money its your teeth! and you wont have to go in debt! you must be very young. not only are they a key to a healthy body AND your looks they will last for years. but yes, dental checkups and cleanings are very important.
