If you can do this, a similar site with only whitehat link building should be able to take it over in no time and will stay there for years. All it takes is a few editorial links from authoritative sites and you're set.

Dudes why do you even bother with social bookmarking new sites.I usually just ping them with bulkping and within 15 minutes I am indexed
 
You need 4 months to take first page for a targeted keyword which has competing sites in Google. I think that you can speed the process to 1 month only for the first page on Google.

To be honest your backlinking strategy is weak. I'm sure adding the unique content 1-2 times a week made up for most of your SERPs movement.

social bookmarks, forum profiles, and edu profiles are all PR 0 pages
