There is only way as far I know to earn from medium is to post article for those who are interested in PR etc.

I don't earn money on Medium, but I promote my services. I've noticed a new way of earning money lately, selling places in rating texts. Let's say you have an article about top 10 CRM services, and it ranks well in Google. People will start coming to you and asking if they can place their service in this rating. You can take a one-time payment from them or for a month of placement. They need this to promote their services in AI chatbots. This only works with articles that list some services.
It will work in some niches where reader is in urgent need of information.
