SEO MOz, and ashrefs is on my personal list for things like this.

ahrefs works awesome.

I like majesticSEO but that could be just from familiarity. The paid part of it give access to run reports which are pretty deep. I thought they were the leaders in returning the most number of backlinks but from some of the posts here, maybe that's not the case anymore. Another cool tool they have is their backlink history tool. I think you just need a free account but then you can compare 5 sites as to the rate and qty of their backlink procurement.

Given the huge amount of data that needs to be crawled, stored and sorted - there are no decent free tools.

The server costs for these kind of things run into the high 5 figures a month
