Here’s my clear, proven method for testing ads — simple, effective, and still works even when Facebook’s algorithms are “picky.”
I always start ad tests at 5:00 AM.
Why?
This gives the system time to gradually allocate budget and allow the algorithm to learn and optimize before peak hours.
After 5 hours, I check the initial performance:
Besides CPC, I always monitor:
Tip: Ask your affiliate manager or check chat groups for benchmark costs.
Example: You’re running campaigns in Germany with an offer paying $200 per deposit and aiming for 20% ROI.
→ Profit target: $200 × 0.20 = $40
→ Maximum ad spend per deposit: $200 - $40 = $160
Conversion rates:
So to get 1 deposit:

1. Launch Time
I always start ad tests at 5:00 AM.
Why?
This gives the system time to gradually allocate budget and allow the algorithm to learn and optimize before peak hours.
2. First Check – 10:00 AM
After 5 hours, I check the initial performance:
- CPC (first click cost):
If it’s above $10 and there are no clicks → stop the campaign and relaunch. - Best range: $8–10 per first click (for Tier 1 traffic).
3. Other Key Metrics to Watch
Besides CPC, I always monitor:
- CPM:
If it's too high → your creative may not be engaging or the market is too competitive.
Solution: Change the creative or slightly increase the budget. - Cost per Install:
Make sure it stays within acceptable limits for the selected GEO.
Tip: Ask your affiliate manager or check chat groups for benchmark costs.
4. How to Calculate a Safe Testing Budget
Example: You’re running campaigns in Germany with an offer paying $200 per deposit and aiming for 20% ROI.
→ Profit target: $200 × 0.20 = $40
→ Maximum ad spend per deposit: $200 - $40 = $160
Conversion rates:
- Install → Registration: 40%
- Registration → Deposit: 30%
So to get 1 deposit:
- You need 3 registrations → 8 installs
Breakdown:
- Max cost per registration = $160 / 3 = $53
- Max cost per install = $160 / 8 = $20
5. Monitor in Real Time & Adjust
- Don’t stop just because cost per install fluctuates — the system needs time to optimize.
- BUT if you spend $40 with no installs, stop it immediately. Don’t burn budget blindly.
6. Daily Analysis Routine
- If CPC is in the $25–30 range → expect installs soon, stay calm.
- If $40 is spent with no installs → pause the campaign that day.
- If installs start appearing → keep running up to $50 to see if you get registrations.
- If registrations happen → let it run until the end of the day and track closely.
Summary
- Testing needs a solid plan.
- Knowing when to stop will save budget and help you scale sustainably.
- Always decide based on real data, not gut feeling.
