Hey guys, just thought I'd post a lounge thread as I haven't posted one for a while.
It's currently 4.39am here in England, usually I would be fast asleep for another hour or so but here I am, lying in a strange bed, wide awake with nothing to do.
Why, you ask is he posting at a time he would normally be sleeping and why in a strange bed?
Well I'm not on holiday or anything fun, I'm laid up in a hospital bed after suffering a heart attack early hours of yesterday morning. I've been stuck in the same bed for nearly 24 hours because they won't even let me go to the toilet.
I'm 47 years old and always thought, nah it'll never happen to me, it's somebody else's issue illnesses are!
How fucking wrong I was. Out of nowhere, yesterday morning at about 7.30am I woke up feeling hot and sweaty, couldn't breathe, felt like an elephant had sat on my chest (not that I would actually know what that feels like) and I had pains in both of my arms.
Cue the panic, ambulance called, partner and kids running around convinced I was going to die right there in front of them!!
I was extremely lucky. It seems the paramedics arrived in time before any permanent or long term damage was caused. Ok I'll probably be on meds for the foreseeable future, maybe even the rest of my life but the alternative would have been far worse .
Don't take life for granted guys. Mine could have been over yesterday.
tl;dr: Yesterday I had a heart attack, today I'm grateful that I'm still alive.
