Hey Guys,

I currently have a site that is doing well (4-9$ daily) that ranks for the keyword "eclipse movie" (exact match domain) and would like some advice on how hard it would be to beat the first ranked domain eclipsem0vie.0rg/.

Here are the details of the first ranked website to beat so you don't have to look it up.

Any SEO advice would be really great.

Thanks.

Pretty difficult. It's also a short lived thing, being a movie and all. I wouldn't waste time on it.

It will take atleast 6 months to get to top position and at that time your keyword carries no value and no more searches,so Try to rank for long term Keywords

any movie site you will ever 'compete' for will be competing with IMDB

you will NEVER beat IMDB. and more importantly you will never beat the official movie site.

so you will never be number 1 or 2 IMO.

you might be number 4 or 5. But you'll have to backlink the hell out of it and promote it heavily.

Besides, people (mainly little school girls and cougars) won't pay much attention to a fan site. It's official site. or nothing.

you're talking about that new twilight set for June right? i know that shit get's mad hype from bitches across the world and I can see your intentions.

You are learning the ways of a black hatter my friend. but a major part of black hatting and SEO especially is knowing when to fight and when to not bother. Keyword and competition research is huge.

holy fucking shit i take back everything i just said.

looks like you're currently number 2 . . or are u 1? i dont think anyone clicks that 'news' crap at the top.

way to go man.

but keep in mind, when the movie comes closer to release then the official movie site and imdb will rank higher. so be prepared to fight (and get raped)

but hey, you never now. nice job with this one

i also just reread your post and noticed that you're looking or SEO advice.

So here goes my response and my advice:

Evaluate your on page SEO first obviously.
Make sure all new posts have the keyword in the titles and your keyword saturation is also strong (but not over the top!)
Make sure your meta data is in place (which i assume it is already)
then analyze your competition's backlinks with yahoo site explorer and see where they are coming from.

I'd hit up the service section of BHW and look through any services that are selling directory submissions, or backlink bulding.
Do some Angela's backlinks and social bookmarking.

Movie sites will do well with social bookmarking and media because google knows that shit is popular and people tlak about it a lot and it would more than likely appear in those places.

Regards to what all was said above, I rank number 1 in Google for a lot of search terms related to tv shows and movies.

It itn't all that hard man, just build quality links....

Congratulation, I like your efforts Adam, could you provided any tips?

Seems like the first spot person has alot of movie sites which are heavily related to each other ... plus the rest of them are having very good PR and quality backlinks too.

I think its really difficult to overcome them unless you go fully blackhat ...

Should take at least a few months.

Dude your number 2. You got a great website that is monetized throughout. Your asking a bunch of newbies for advise. You just gave away a lot of secrets so thanks for the tips.

I liked the way this guy did it for Sherlock Holmes movie.

Also if Kristen was kissing another girl gotta get that on there and get some keywords going for that.

That sherlock holmes site is a great example of a successful black hat campaign. That guy must be banking hard from that site, all the internet noobs desperate to watch a free film with no idea how to download torrents, "oh heres a nice looking site, must be legit, I'll just fill this survey in to prove im not a robot...."

I bet they even fill in his little email submit before they do the offer!
