These days not as they used to, but in the early days of Google they were one of the main factors including keyword density. It's just how the algorithm is made.

Google changed a lot with it policies for SEO. Try to gain knowledge by reading the Google rules regarding SEO and implement them with real time projects. Artificial Intelligence used by Google is important now days.

H1 tags are important as they tell visitors and search engines what the content of the page is all about.

This concept reduces the bounce rate, improve SEO ranking.

H2<H1 and so on when comes to the importance!

I did found some correlation between h tags. When I did not use them, my keyword did not have zero position, but when I added products as h2 or h3, i did have zero position. + google still watches h1 tags, because if you have more than 1 h1 tag on your post, you won't rank that good. It's a small factor but it is a factor (this is from my personal experience)
