How Google News Ranking works?

In my niche my site is always the first one to publish news related to my niche, established authority sites always takes 2-3 hours more to publish the same news.
For that short period of time I'm the only one I appear sometimes correctly in Google News but as soon as the authority sites publish the same news, my site disappear and they take my place.
How do I avoid that. How do I eank my site on Google news so I stay on top after they publish the same news?

I've never owned news sites, so don't quote me on this, but knowing google's love affair with authority and trust I would say that they favor big media outlets over any other entity because people trust these companies more than anyone else.

As long as people keep trusting (or at least following and consuming their content) the big media companies I think google will keep ranking them before everyone else. Just my 2 cents...

@gm90 Adding on to @tazarbm point, these media sites develop authority on their way up as well. So as GNEWS keeps them in the algorithm & the media companies keep adding more content, the harder they are to outrank.

So, even outside of the news cycle, they'll rank for terms they're not even targeting.
 
Yes, it happens in all niches where the site with authorithy and broad audience will outrank other sites. Outranking those sites is difficult.

But dont lose hope, Keep publishing niche related news, and build link from influential site this will increase the credibility of your site day by day. Interlink with other news article.
 
These are the factors that could be restricting your website in establishing as an Authority in your niche

  1. Are you featured in Google News? If so, was it approved through the new or old dashboard? If you are featured in google news and were approved through the old dashboard, your half job is done. Keep doing what you are doing.
  2. As the first to break the news, are you consistently receiving links?
  3. Is your social media presence strong? Being the first to break news can provide a significant advantage in terms of shares and discussions.
  4. How Consistently have you been breaking news?


These are the signals that Google looks for to establish your authority and include your website in the Top Stories panel.

The site with the most visitors and the highest trust always wins. Online, they're hard to defeat.
Update your site with relevant news and look for inbound links from reliable sites to build your trustworthiness. Link up the news.

1 - Consistency
2 - Quality Articles that your target audience will appreciate
3 - Breaking original content regularly

Are your competitors producing more content than you?
 
Focus on more quality links and for some days run ads for more traffic and build more audience to outbeat them.
 
Keep publishing niche related news with original, high-quality content, continuously update your articles, use engaging headlines. Thank you!

If it happens many times, Google will understand, and you will stay top 3 for the new, or any kind of news related to your niche.
 
When you published an article Then you index some good quality backlinks for your url. If that doesn't work, you can talk to a professional if you want.
