How Google is spying on you with firefox 3 safebrowsing

So whenever you visit a site, firefox sends the url to google to check for malware and phishing. WTF is this??? Wouldn't be easier if google just gave a list of bad sites and you'd compare it to that?

Anyways, if you haven't already, set

browser.safebrowsing.enabled

and

browser.safebrowsing.malware.enabled

to false in about:config....

No wonder we were getting screwed all this time!

You can also change it by unchecking edit->preferences->security->tell me if the site....

they also gather more information using google analytics and they can track sites you are visiting by your IP. Esp if you log into adwords, adsense or gmail and visit other sites without logging out. Even if your IP is changing, the second you log into any Google services, they can link it to back to you.

Well that's why you shouldn't use chrome! I doubt they'd close a part of source because of that, it's pretty easy to find out if it really is sending some strange packets.

Oh, and don't get me started about google toolbar! I thought I couldn't live without those sexy green bars but recently I did a clean install, never got it and I realize I don't miss it at all.
