OK. This is my hypotheses... want the community to validate this. I may be on to something...

Google released Penguin 1.0 knowing it would do collateral damage.

They then released the Disavow Tool as a (false hope and lifeline to the SEOs industry) only with ONE main intention.

And, that ONE intention was to get huge amounts of humanly crowdsourced manual link spam data so they could feed it into RankBrain as its seed data.

RankBrain needed this "clean and atural" seed data of spammy link profiles so it could be trained via its deep learning mechanism.

Why train RankBrain?

So that it could eventually work with Penguin 4.0 to help and make it (run in) real time.

Basically, I think Google played us. Assholes.

Deliberately releasing Penguin 1.0 knowing it would be imperfect and torch a TON of sites and livelihoods. Then pretending to throw a lifeline they called the Disavow Tool (that never really worked or helped unless you also deleted links at the same time).

And then used that crowdsourced data that we SEOs toiled to compile and sent them... to get to Penguin 4 Real Time so, the Penguin detected sites (too many toxic backlinks and onpage over-optimization) - could get bubbled up to the manual review team with higher accuracy AND speed.

Jerks.

I've written about this at length here IF anyone is remotely interested.

But, I would appreciate comments from you guys AND specifically the experts here.

This is not about ranking shit. I'm just talking about how they're moving to where they wanted to to take us down faster than before.

Appreciate comments.

In my humble opinion far too many people spend far too much time and money trying to please google, I don't and I am doing well enough

I think this is granted since every information Google gets will be utilized. If they created the disavow tool only because of this reason is debatable but possible. Anyways nice out of the box posting. I like it.

I think that ever since the Disavow tool has been launched, everybody knew very well how will be the information put into it used. Talking about being conned... well... that's not correct. We make the living by adjusting to whatever Google throws at us and trying to do it better than other people in this business. It's basically an evolution. Adjusting to the new conditions, "mutating" and so on, so it doesn't matter what Google launches and releases. We will have to adjust no matter what.

Off topic: Jesus, how I hate that Anonymous bullcrap. "We are Anonymous. We are failures. We don' get laid. We don't lose weight. Ignore us"

Nothing to grumble about since Google owns the search engine. They can do whatever they want to their asset. We are the leacher in this instance who is relying upon them to get traffic.

Google intentionally releasing Penguin 1.0 to fuck everyone and get them to use the disavow tool to get information for RankBrain = false.

Google using the disavow tool to train RankBrian = plausible

i think google will try to shuffle and reshuffle the search results with every update, they're search engine, they're rules we just obey....

That's most likely what happened, but it isn't a "con." It's their search engine and their disavow tool. Don't want to game their service? Don't. Don't want to disavow? Don't.

If any of us ran a search engine we'd have done the same thing.

Casted a vote - 'dunno' But interesting hypothesis.

At the end of the day Google is a business. The goal of a business is to make money. So you need to think about the disavow tool as a means to an end.

The idea of training rankbrain is plausible. If Google doesn't serve the highest quality results possible, users will use another search engine. If the user base dwindles, Google's ads make less impressions thus less money.

I for one don't give a shit what anti-spam algorithms they implement. I outrank websites with authority backlinks all day long with on page SEO alone for keywords that receive in the neighborhood of 5-10k monthly searches. Seriously.

Just make good content. It's not actually a myth. It works. I've also done the blackhat thing and found that it's actually ten times easier to simply do keyword research and write articles that aren't complete trash.

Interesting post though. Makes you think.

Google is definetly fooling SEO experts around with their panda updates and keywords updates.
