Hello, BHW guys.
I am quite new to instagram.
I have a question.
How good is instagram in driving traffic?
Lets say I have 10k followers. And I post a pic with a hashtag saying to visit my website related to my instagram niche.
How much traffic can I get from such a post?

May be someone has experience?
I know for example that for twitter from 1000 followers I get at least a visit with untargeted followers.

What about instagram?

I would have to say Instagram is one of the better social media platforms to advertise on. However, I would also have to suggest that if you want trustworthy, targeted visits to your webpage, it's best to build your Instagram profile to the thousands/tens of thousands of followers BEFORE posting up any ads or sh** like that, because then people will like your account for what it is, so that once you DO post something ad-related, they will probably give it more of a chance.

I see tons of people making $$$$$$ off Instagram. Do it right! :)

There is a lot to say, but that's just a tip.

In my experience, it works pretty well. Keep in mind that most of Instagram users are 24 and below.

Quality posts first, then advertise.

You could also search your niche by hashtag and comment your website to the people with that hashtag.
 
Here is some numbers to absorb. I would like an assessment on this as well from experience marketers.

I have been building up my personal account heavily for the past month. I will soon reach my 10K by this weekend. My followers are real and not bought. On the average, I get about 800+ likes and about 24 comments for each photos. These are quality images and not ads, phrases, etc images... I am right now at 9500+ followers. Is the ratio for likes ok?
 
just like the above post says, instagam is one of the best traffic sources i've ever encountered upon
it basically beats pretty much everything in user engagement: "Compared to other networks, Instagram has 58 times more engagement per follower than Facebook, and 120 times more engagement per follower than Twitter."

the average sales order value of visitors referred by instagram: $66,75, by facebook: $55, by twitter: $46.29
 
Guys I understand all that. But what about the traffic?
What about the visits to the sites?
Thats what I need to know.

nobody can tell you that exactly, because it depends on a lot of things, alone in your niche for that matter

but let's just say when i averaged a few 10k new followers each day (untargeted but real people), i was able to drive 2-3k UVs daily to an email submit offer, if you have some legit stuff to market to them, i can imagine this rate would be even higher

one thing is sure, you can expect very high user engagement especially compared to twitter

i made anywhere between $250-350 daily off of offers which paid $1.5-1.8 per submit
it's not that bad considering the industry standard shaving which is going on w/ email submits

Cost Per Action (CPA) emails submits. Basically you get them to a landing page and they fill out the email you get $1.8 or whatever. This works great for free iphone signups or something that free. I have heard this is best way to make money quickly. I think affiliate sales are more profitable but you need a large amount of followers to get enough traffic.
 
thanks for the tip. Just one more question. How do you manage to get 10k followers per day? How many accounts do you need?
 
Instagram is an effective way to get traffic. I suggest you to take time before posting any ads on your profile. At first try to create a healthy profile and then try to advertise. With Instagram you will get good amount of traffic.
 
Yes....also a great way to target a niche....if you built it they will come.
 
Just thought I'd throw this out there: I get about 100-150 unique visits every day to one of my websites that I'm only promoting through Instagram. I have about 30k followers across the 6 accounts that promote the site, but tbh the number of followers I have is irrelevant; it is more the traffic that I get from liking/commenting/following others (about 2000 actions per day, per account) where they check out my profile and then decide to click the link. I still haven't made a penny off this traffic though, which needs to be sorted out big time(!)

Your numbers seem a bit low. 100-150 uniques is quite low. Is your site related to your followers?
Is it a freebie offer, or just a website not offering anything free?

Sorry I should have been clearer. When I said 'promoting through Instagram', I meant that the link to that particular site isn't anywhere else, and thus I can be certain that all the traffic is via Instagram.

Otherwise, it is quite literally, just the link in the bio of each of the accounts. I'm not really 'promoting' it per se. No call to actions or anything.

Having said that, it is related to the stuff posted on the accounts. No freebie offers or anything. Just a website where you could purchase any of the products posted on the page.

I've picked a bad niche to market to via Instagram though - hence probably why no sales...

Either way, I thought 100-150 visits per day through curiosity clicks was pretty good, but I'm new to all of this, so I wouldn't know haha
 
Are you guys using your phones, a program, an android emulator? What's the best way to manage multiple accounts from a pc? I've always wanted to try instagram, but it just seems like a headache to manage.
