how get position 1 from position 2 ?

Hi

my ranking for my target keyword is position 2 for about 3 months ! now i want get position 1 for my keyword ! site in position 1 is very old with high authority !

what is your idea for solve this problem ?

* my website is ecommerce !

You can make your content better than his, and after that sent traffic to your page (for example buy traffic or sent from your other sites/pages), enable comments.
 
Eventually, you can move up by continuing the good work that makes you rank2. Add more quality backlinks and build brand awareness
 
Optimize your website speed.
Make the users stay on your page for longer.
Optimize your title for better CTR(add emoji for example).

The SEO for lower first page rankings is different. In this case, backlinks are not always the answer.
 
Build quality backlinks. Make beautiful content that will make users to spend more time on your site . Make sure your site takes less time to load.
 
Build more links to your page than the first one. More doesn't mean reduce quality of link. Quality is also important.

How to identify a quality link:
If link is placed on page that is relevant to your page and if traffic flows from that linking page to your page then that is the best thing ever.

Is it niche broad i.e

your selling paint. And you rank no.2 for "Paint Supplier"

or is it more specific like product or category page you are ranking no.2 for? such as

"silk red paint"

?
 
Get couple of editorial backlinks if your target keyword is worth it..
 
What ever you do don't change the post content if you r on 2 position
 
If you can build Niche Related Traffic Links with good content surely you will get best position . Nowdays Content is most important factor in SEO
 
Check your Competitor backlinks strength and try to get links from the sites where he got. If not, get links from different sites with same strength.
 
Traffic doesn’t mean anything if people don’t convert!
Do something extra with your website.
