Gas is insane because of tax and supply/demand availability (first year economics will teach you this). Alcohol is also insane (about 2.5x the USA).

Flights are 2.3x average because of again, airport landing fees (from airport taxes).

Healthcare is 5 hour wait times on average and 1 year to get into a specialist.

"Free healthcare" - it's only free if your income is dog shit. The taxes Canadians pay are higher so it works out to what an individual pays in insurance in the USA. Except in the USA, you don't wait 2 years for a surgery. I know because I was in line. I also had a couple friends under the age of 30 die from cancer recently, again, hospitals were too slow to respond. It's a shame. The best way to respond is to crowdfund money for them to go to the USA for treatment as we only have health insurance in our own country, not internationally. I had some friends do that successfully. The truly best option is to get an American job with benefits and get all your healthcare done there.

On my <40 hours of researching and comparing healthcare systems around the globe, the Swiss probably have the best healthcare system, however America's is very strong.

Yes, expensive housing matters because shockingly the more expensive the house, the more the mortgage is, and if your income is dog shit (see the healthcare part) then you won't be able to afford a mortgage.

Just do the math with a bit of logic. It's not overly complicated.

They are not exactly low, they are low in comparison to jobs elsewhere, dramatically lower actually. I've worked as a consultant in both countries and have had clients in both countries. 40-50% lower, after currency conversion.

Health care is not free lol. You are taxed for it. It's only free if you're broke (which you shouldn't be if you're on an internet marketing forum).

"House prices are fine where I am" is a nice way of saying "Ya I know the stats, but I prefer to look the other way until it affects me" lol
