How fast is 'Building links too fast' ?

Sorry if this sounds really noobish, its the first time I've done it, I want to start ranking for my keyword and want to know how fast I can do it?

A few links a day or..?

I'm doing it all white hat so its not going to be extremely fast but I want to spend a whole day ranking, is that considered 'too fast' for google?

P.S. how can I get my links indexed quikly? - or with white hat should I let them to it naturally?

I don't think there is any set number. The most important thing is velocity.
Whatever amount you decide, just keep doing it on a consistent basis.
If you are doing white hat, I would think you aren't doing thousands a day, so you should be fine.

There's no accurate figure for the amount of links!! its a guessing game.

The things to be aware of are as follows:
Dont blast your money site with blog comments and forum posts only to your 1st or 2nd tier links.
If you build 10 links today build 10 tomorrow. keep it consistent it looks more natural ( I dont follow this one and haven't notice any adverse affects)

On a new domain I wait a month or 2 let all my pages get indexed then add some new content and once that's indexed start building links. 20 a day for a few weeks then up it to larger weekly amounts. you can probably at more links at a faster rate but this way is the safe way.

i use www . pingfarm . com to index my links.

just make a txt file and keep all of your link url's you build for the day in there and then upload it to pingfarm for indexing at the end of the day!

and if you are link building by hand all white hat you will be fine just don't get all your links from one type of site.

get links from all over the web eg bookmarks,video,blog comm,web 2.0's etc
