How effective is Yahoo Answers marketing?

Anyone using Yahoo Answers as part of their marketing strategy? If so, how effective is it? How many answers do you post daily?

Please advise.

Personally I found it too time consuming for the benefit. Others may have had better results with this, but not for me. Now consuming the content to fill an auto site is another thing.

CPA offers (Fake download page trick) would usually generate you $100/day in the first two days after posting the maximum number of answers from 10 or so accounts and around $10/day for months to come. The problem is that everyone is doing it now and there are simply not enough questions to answer.

I used to bombard Yahoo answers with affiliate links for spyware removal etc. That was done automatically with a crapy software so I am not sure how many question I used to answer per day but I used to convert quite well.

When it comes to traffic I am still getting 300 or so daily uniques from a spamming campaign I launched a year ago or so.

Overall I think there is still potential in YA but things are becoming crowded.

I don't think things will get better any time soon. I was there when word "ewhoring" did not even exist and when things got saturated I moved to something else even though a few years later it is still picking up.

However, I see that things have gotten harder to keep answers alive. Users seem to report post more easily and Yahoo themselves also put up a few more layers of filters etc.


What about twitter / facebook marketing? I see a few users on BHW are selling such software. I personally never used twitter before. How is it compare to Yahoo answers?

i have seen posts on yahoo answers rank high on google, just like most social media it is temporary and does generate some traffic...

what i have seen work better though and also get ranked in google are the answers that get pulled from YA using a script to fill a message board, personally only experienced it twice but got lots of results...

if you have the time to do it i certainly dont think harms to be part of your campaign...

Personally I find i can drive very targetted traffic from Yahoo Answers, however its a lot of work getting posts made even though theres automatic software its not great!

I've had good sales from an hour or two posting on there.

They are pretty hot on banning you, haven't tried much though.
