How effective is reddit for local seo?

Just wondering how effective reddit would be for local businesses

It's a great thing to have as part of your portfolio of links but like anything it's not going to rank you using that alone

Reddit is not just enough for ranking your site.

If you use it as a single source - not much effective, as a part of your SEO - it’s good!

Only Reddit is not enough to rank the site or a keyword. By this, you can create limited traffic.

To use reddit effectively for local businesses, you want to create 1) a brand page (subreddit) where you share USEFUL information for people who might be interested in your page. You can't just post links to your own site, reddit can actually ban you for that (spam). 2) Create a "review" subreddit for businesses or products in your industry, fill it up with some to competitors using "fake" accounts, then post a long detailed review about your own business filled with proper keywords. You can stuff more keywords and content using fake accounts in the comments. Total should be 700+ words of content added, with lots of industry relevant questions in the comments like "Do you think this is the best dental office in San Diego? I am really tired of my current dentist and looking for a cheaper dentist in the San Diego area who is accepting new patients."

The hope is that these posts rank in Google for relevant keywords.
