How effective forum links still are?

Hey SEOs,
Are you still building forum links (Thread links, not forum profile links) for your sites? Worth it?

Any link counts if is done in a legit way, but forum posts alone will not give you many benefits as Google knows they can be easily manipulated, as far as I remember, an engineer even stated this on a tweet a while back.

Yes, if they are from good English relevant forums with good metrics.

If they are relevant, niche forums, and you make useful comments, adding value, then they can drive traffic.
But don't look at it as the only link building method to use.

Forum links are one of my favourites, even if they are nofollow. And I mean from real, relevant forums.
Traffic + relevancy for your site.
Still naturally getting them, and it makes me happy that people share my site, I guess my content is not that bad.

Forum links are underrated, if you can do that properly, you will see some serious traffic and ranking boost.

If they are forums that are very specific to your niche and not riddled with spam, threads that answer actual "question keyphrases" maybe useful if you run a Q+A campaign

Your VA posts realistic-looking threads based on your KW target

Your VA then uses another account to post the "answer" which is a uniquely worded stripped down version of the linked article in the response

The linked article must truly answer the 'question keyphrase' your targeting.

This takes a lot of work so you better have the time to do it right

If not, just hire a VA off Upwork or Fiverr (hourly) or LXN or Cognoplus or similar sites for results-based (ie., 'you complete it, or I don't pay') outsourcing

Wikipedia and Quora links are saviours for me. Adult niches are messed up. But when you control entries from wikipedia you really got a head start. Even no-follow links from wikipedia will boost your traffic and DA.

Spending tons of time just to confirm one of my theories: having wikipedia links for a long time will make algorithms rise your site stakes.

Ones I Tried on Wikipedia to get links, But they are rejecting our links. You have to go to the High DA forum and then Mentioned your link. Definatlyt it will helpful for you.Your domain DA and DR will increase.

You can try Quora also. Go with the old quora ID, Answer some questions, and after that link your link in it. But never do spam. It will ban your ID for some day.

This is still viable as long as you don't think you're getting huge SEO juice from them. I've found it helps in getting articles indexed and helps towards social signals.

Quality forum posts will also generate traffic, which counts towards trust value

Ideally, you want real people to naturally share your website on relevant forums... then you can bump the threads with links to your site.
Second best option, you actively participate in the forums and rarely link to your site (adding a link later won't change a thing if you spam).

How much wikipedia links do you recommend for a brand affiliate website with 100 articles? I have currently 6 wikipedia links and working on more of them. Thanks
