How effective are lead generation or conversion ads? I have been advertising my affiliate link using Facebook ads and I have been choosing the traffic option mainly because its cheaper. However, conversation rate has been very poor. I am just wondering how effective is the lead generation or conversion ads for affiliate links.

There's a notable difference. I personally never (rarely) run link click campaigns. Go for conversions, but you need to use FB's pixel for it to work.

I can't use FB's Pixel for affiliate links since they don't offer that option.

Traffic is still the best when it comes to affiliate marketing, You should tweak your audience so you get better conversion rate

You can use pixels to link, but I think the most important thing is images and content, if you don't have rich content and beautiful images, you lose to other advertisers.
