How easy is this competition really?

Hey,

I'm doing SEO research for my country and came across multiple keywords that show low to extremely low competition but basically all the rankings are dominated by big shops like Amazon for my country who have a shitton of BL's and high DA.

My question is are they able to be outranked? And if so, can I outrank them with high-quality content and backlinks or should I throw a lot of PBNs at them to even make a chance?

Seeing amazon on first page is not a good sign, but it can be done. If you have strong PBN and strong domain go for it. Ask yourself is it really worth it and what will be the reward. If that's for a client of yours give it a shot but warn him that it might be hard.
 
Whenever I am doing competition research, one of the first things I do is check whether the top 10 has sites like mine.

If you are building affiliate sites, you would want to see whether the top 10 has at least one affiliate site.

So does the top 10 have at least one site like yours? What about the top 20?

Sometimes the keyword difficulty score may be very low, but it might be impossible to rank as Google may not want to rank certain types of sites in the top 10.

A low keyword difficulty score is necessary but not sufficient. There are more things you would want to look at.

The problem in this country is that this huge store has hundreds of domains like: storename.kitchenrobot.xxx , storename.breadmachines.xxx where they sell their products and thus they dominate almost every niche. So I'm wondering if they can ever be outranked?
 
It depends on what kind of keywords you want to outrank them for.

If you are trying to outrank them for <<storename breadmachines>>, <<breadmachines>> or <<brandname breadmachines>> with an affiliate site, it might be hard.

But if you trying to outrank them for comparison or review kind of phrases, it might be a lot easier.
 
You have to understand google ranks web pages, not websites.
They want to return the best specific web page for a search query, regardless of whether that page is on a small business’s website or a big business’s one.

Do proper on page optimization. Concentrate on all aspects of on page optimization.
You need to create high-quality content (that’s better than the content currently on the 1st page) which is very closely related to the keywords they want to target.
Get more good quality backlinks pointing to the relevant page on its site than there are pointing to the relevant page on the established site.
Use all social media influence to your website.
Concentrate more on mobile devices. You can create an app for your site. It will make you popular.

It takes time and the results aren’t instantaneous, but it does work

Yes, I'm trying to outrank them for comparison and keyword phrases. I'm also targeting keywords they don't have on page SEO for .

Right, that's the reason I took on the challenge because although this store has huge BL's and DA. They provide only a single page of content about the product itself. And I strongly believe that google likes alot of high-quality content about a specific object. My site has about 15 pages of high-quality content about the product. Reviews/Comparisons etc.

Wouldn't it be pricey to make a mobile app for my site? I'm not selling products which are worth 1k+.
