Is it like tiktok where every post needs to be original? or can youtube get away with some duplicate content. Im planning on testing myself but if anyone has any insights would be great. thanks.

YouTube accepts reused clips, but pure duplicates won’t grow.

Reusing parts of your content is fine. I've seen people who post several videos on a topic, and then edit and add them all as a single long video and post it again. Doing this will work and won't be an issue.

YouTube prioritizes original content. Duplicate or re-uploaded videos can get limited reach, demonetized, or flagged. You can reuse content only if you add value, like commentary, edits, or your own twist.

utube will tolerate some instances of re used content, but there must be an obvious rationale for the exisstence of the re mix version. the addition of ur voice or edits or commentary is what will make it better. essentially, do not copy re mix.

Hello. I wouldn’t recommend uploading the same content over and over. I think it’s better to try different formats and topics to see what works best for your audience. If you want to reuse a video, try to make some real changes and add something new. This can also matter if you plan to monetize your channel, since youtube has rules about reused content. Also, keep copyright in mind when using other people’s videos.

Over the past month, youtube has taken a stricter stance against the re-uploading of other people's content. In more serious cases, this can lead to the termination of a channel.

YouTube allows some reused content, but uploading the same videos repeatedly can cause problems. If u add ur own commentary, editing, or unique value, it may be safer for monetization.

YT allows duplicate clips to circulate for organic traffic much longer than Tiktok's strict unoriginality filters, but monetize wise it's a completely different story. if u're just using Shorts for external traffic, subtle uniqueizing works fine, but for long term channel, u need added value like voiceovers or commentary mate

youtube is actually way stricter than tiktok when it comes to duplicate content, especially if you are trying to get monetized. their automated system flags reused content easily, so you can't just reupload the exact same video. if you use clips from other places, you have to add significant editing, a voiceover, or a unique spin to pass the review

Yes, it's still effective to drive traffic if you add new value, but to enable monetization and sustain the channel long-term, you absolutely need to create a unique selling point.

Being original on TikTok is very important otherwise the views will be completely dead but YouTube's system is a little different On YouTube you can get views by playing light duplicate content but if your goal is to make money then YouTube is very strict for monetization, copying and uploading other people's videos will never monetize your channel due to copyright strike and Reused content. The best way is to create your own original content, if you have to use someone else's video then add value to it by adding your voice over, comment, analysis or any useful information, just doing a little editing does not make the video monetizable.
