How does this Facebook traffic funnel work? (Comment link → video → ad redirect)

Hi guys,

I’ve been noticing a method used by some Facebook pages and I’m trying to understand how the setup works.

Basically they post an image or viral content, and in the comments they drop a link. When you click the link, it takes you to a page with a video player. When you try to play the video, it redirects to a CPM ad page where an ad impression is generated.

From what I understand, they’re monetizing the traffic through those ad impressions.

My questions are:

  • What kind of hosting is usually used for this type of setup?
  • Are they using CPM or CPA networks?
  • How is the flow technically structured? (comment → video page → ad redirect)
  • Is this usually done with a simple landing page script or some specific platform?
I’ve seen some pages getting massive traffic with this method, so I’m curious about how people are implementing it.

Any insights would be appreciated.

Yeah it’s usually just a basic landing page on a VPS with a fake video player that redirects when you hit play. Mostly CPM since it’s all about volume. Pretty much post → page → click → ad.

They use simple landing pages with a fake video player that triggers a redirect on click.
Monetization is usually CPM networks since they get paid per impression.
 
that setup is pretty common it’s basically a funnel using curiosity clicks. usually just simple hosting like vps or cheap cloud since pages are lightweight. most use cpm networks because they get paid per view.

it's a classic cloak method where they use the comment section to avoid the bot filters on the main ad. usually the link goes to a bridge page or a telegram bot first so facebook doesn't flag the direct redirect to the offer. keep the video engaging and let the comments do the dirty work.

Is it profitable, like can they make thousands from it?
