How Does This Ebay Scam Work??

I was scammed by the same type of listing and I was wondering how they are getting away with it.

He sold 1531 sets in 24h good for £22k, even with a stealth account how the hell is he getting the money.

I paid with master card and already called for a chargeback. Unless he bought a account which has no limit and paypal releases the money instantly i don't see how this works.

And this is a small seller I was ripped of by a power seller with 96% positive feedback. He has now lost his power seller status and his feedback is 26%. Either he got hacked or he exit scammed

Like you said, probably a hacked account.

Probably bought the account and a stealth PayPal with no holds and all done.

yeah i am not sure, what's the catch. I have seen similar shit. I bought one thing, i did know it's too cheap. But i bought it.
I waited 3 month and i didn't see the item nowhere. After that i wanted refund.
ebay did give the refund and the seller account was banned...

It's possible, that some people are using stolen credit cards, fake cards or similar and they add those the ebay site.
when someone buys something, they will get the payment. Maybe they transfer the money fast to some other place.
and when the Buyer and eBay ask the refund. They won't pay, but eBay automatically takes the money from the Sellers bank account.

But if the bank account's balance is 0€. i think the eBay pays the money from their pocket.
