Okay this question may be dumb but since I'm practically clueless about rss feeds I need a good explanation from you guys.

I know that rss feeds can increase traffic for a website utilizing seo which is good in terms of traffic and backlinks, but what i'm confused is how this helps in translating into a sale credited to the website owner since the feed (it maybe an article) has its own resource or link which when click on will go directly to the sales page of the author of the article which means possibly no sale for the website owner where the feed was found since he was not the author and the link clicked on was not his.

Please do correct me if I am wrong and additional info on this will help.

    Thanks

Feeds only propogate the blog posts or news stories themselves. If you're doing affiliate linking, you have to have your affiliate link in your blog post. People click on the feed to come to your blog, not go directly to the sales page.

For one of my poker blogs on wordpress, where I will refer someone to an aff link for a poker site in the blog post, and if someone has html enabled in wherever the RSS feed is displayed, the link is in the RSS feed unchanged.
