How Does Quora Make Money ?

Assets.

They have no income, but the site is worth more and more each year.

They sell bits of the site to investors to pay bills and shit like that.

Many sites are in a similar situation, they are worth nothing in terms of income (like twitter), but their owners are still billionaires on paper.

Exactly. They value content but it's like a bubble still, ready to explode. Content is easier to create, easier to research, to aggregate, but yet over valued every year.

they have no real value. Its all make believe.

Money is only a piece of paper that controls your life.

1. Why will the investors pay the bills if the site is not giving a good return from their investments ?
2. How come the websites' owners are Billionaires if their site is not making any money ?

Please answer the above questions.

From last year: http://blogs.wsj.com/digits/2014/04/09/with-80-million-in-new-capital-quora-still-has-no-business-model/

"Co-founder and Chief Executive Adam D'Angelo has emphasized building a question-and-answer site with millions of repeat visitors before trying to make money from them, a strategy that proved successful at D'Angelo's last job - as one of the earliest executives of Facebook."

1. Because as they run the site, more content is added, more users use it, more people visit it. The value goes up, so the little bit they bought for $1 million is now worth $1.5 million...

2. Because they own 25% of something worth 4 billion etc. They coould sell their shares and get cash worth 1 billion

So the complete opposite of what the most successful Q&A site has done?

Quora: Run solely on investments
RespenzerWeb: Run solely without investments

Quora: Site doesn't make money
RespenzerWeb: Site needs to sustain itself and make money

Just throw any old template up on a Blogger blog and cross your fingers that you fall backwards into luck.

They do not started their revenue sources but they have HUGE DATABASE and in future they can do anything for revenue generations because good trust they had built up,which matters.

Stop asking me stupid, basic baby level questions and research how investments work.

It's not difficult. This is the way the world works.

If you don't understand it, not my problem.

Might want to replace that beer you spilled, because it's the only reason I can come up with the out-of-nowhere aggression towards a fairly common question regarding the value of businesses.

Remember the internet is bombarded with information, some that is good, some not so good and just confuses the end user more. If he's asking a question it's because he's looking for an answer that's basic yet good enough for him to interpret correctly instead of google investopedia or something and get overwhelmed. Annoying? Maybe. But helping newbies is only beneficial as it fuels the brainpower for more money making ideas.

I value my time above explaining investments to people who cannot be bothered to google for themselves.

since it is a database they might be selling user data to bigger companies. And of course they have a large source of traffic. Might start monetizing one day.

If you valued your time so much, you wouldn't be bitching about someone's honest question on an online forum.
