Hello to all BHW members.
Just a question. There is a website I am currently working on. There are a few pieces of copied content within modal windows triggered by users by clicking on "Read more". These pieces are quite large. I would say they make up more than 50% of all the text the page has. Google has indexed this copied text and I can find the page on SERP by searching for this text.
So, here is my question. Can it harm my SEO? If I remove (rewrite) these copied peices of hidden text will it make any difference?
I'm just having an argument with my colleague who says:
"The text is hidden in modal windows so that Google is not going to penalize the site for that"
