How Does Google Know Your Ad Has A Unapproved Supplement?

Hi everyone. I'm new to the site and I had a question I was hoping someone could help me with. I ran a google ad for my supplement that was initially approved and ran for about a week. Everything was going great until suddenly it got shut down. When I went to create the same ad they said my supplement is unapproved. I never put the name of the supplement in the ad. All I put was "Calming Supplement - Reduce Stress - and the name of my company." I'm racking my brain trying to understand how google even knew what supplement I was selling. The only thing I can think of is for the landing page I used a link to my website homepage and maybe they crawled it and read the supplement name there. If I take out the name of the supplement on my home page and try creating a new campaign, will it work? A friend of mine mentioned something about using a cloaker that will use a different a different landing page, but I wanted to see if I could just take the name of the supplement off my homepage first.

Also, now that I tried running the campaign twice and it got shut down, if I try again will my account get banned?

If anyone can offer some help, I would appreciate it more than you know.

Google disapproves ads that either do not comply with content and creative policies or the requirements for third-party ad serving. These are the most common reasons an ad may be disapproved by Google.

Hi Elvis, thanks for the reply. Does that mean it was the words I used in my actual ad then? If so, I’m even more confused, caused I see other ads using the same words. Also, they specifically said, “Unapproved Substance” when they stopped the campaign. How would they know the substance was unapproved just from the words I used in the ad?

Hey there! Google's algorithms are quite sharp. Even if you don't mention the supplement's name in the ad, if it's on your website, they might find it. Removing it from your homepage could be a good first step. But don't risk it; consider asking Google's support for guidance to avoid any potential account issues.
