How does Google break a link network

I guess it's just a MASSSSIVE coincidence that matt writes a tweet about ' naught russian link selling software ' and then google goes after 'another link network' and it's clearly targeting sape when all you ever hear is this link network now adays.

Whats with the strong language?? You are right about Sape being the hardest one to take down, but its also the one that's doing the most trouble in terms of breaking Google's policy. So why would they go and hunt down small networks (that do very little damage compared to Sape) when they can go full out on sape.

I think they are going all out on Sape, we don't know how strong Sapes security is (unless you speak Russian and know the owner). Lets not forget Google is the biggest and most powerful force in the internet, they have money, PHD employees and a pretty fucking smart webspam team. They will take down SAPE eventually, but that just makes us even stronger for the next 'sape' that we make.

If you are anyone else believes that Google does not lurk here then you are clueless. Of course they do, they may not need to "latest seo" info, but they do come here to reverse engineer what ever tactics we are using that are working to manipulate the SERPs, in this case... SAPE...

2/ I still doubt if Cutts tweet was directly about Sape. Why couldnt it have been about Zennoposter or one of the other couple of hundred Russian softwares and networks.

You already said that some of your other sape fueled sites are doing well. I suspect its more a link velocity issue. You had a site going nowhere you purchased 2 services and suddenly got a lump of links....you appear on Gs radar so they have a look and say hmmm.... shit load of links on the 18th to 20th february not much before that....give him a slap even if we are wrong its not as if we have to explain ourselves.
 
in order for Google to detect sites on a link network, there must be something in common amongst all the sites to link them together - a unique signature or pattern which identifies the site as a member of the link network

Yep like id a handful of sape sites see who they are linking too, and if they are fool enough to have a google webmasters account, send out a few notes, then sit back and let them tell you which are paid links, same as a google plus button
