Hi everyone,

I know this is a total noob question but I would love to hear your advices.

I've been trying to promote offers on YT for a while now without much success. That's why I wanna move on to content locking using YT as well.
I used the search function of this forum and found a lot of threads about content locking, all of them didn't explain me the basics and a 'how to' though.
I do understand the principle- But how does it actually work?
I already signed up for AdWork Media since most other networks don't allow this kind of marketing.

Let's say I have a YouTube channel now about celebrities- The product I want to content lock is a 'celebs in bikini' Ebook with pictures (it's just an example, I don't have this kind of product).

1) How does it work now? What exactly do I have to do? Could you write me a short step by step guide?

2) What would it look like for the user? He clicks on the link, and what does he see first?

3) Do I need those 'Mighty Content Locking' software or not?

Thanks!

1) Search the forum or search around Google for a guide :)

2) Don't understand the question, it looks like a content locker.

3) No, some CPA networks have content lockers.

so why do people spend money on software like mighy content locker if you can do it for free too?
i mean the networks which don't provide content locker don't allow it anyway i guess..

You create a new campaign (search on youtube there are a lot of tutorials i guess)
And link it from your site.So in order for your cisitors to get the ebook they have to go.to your campaignfill one offer out and then be able to download the file.
Some networks already provide built in content lockers like adworkmedia so no you dont need one :)

people are purchasing custom software because it gives you total control on everything - you can promote offers from several cpa networks at once, you have tons more options and features, you can hide all your activities, you can promote non-incentive offers and etc.. all these things aren't available in the content lockers the cpa networks provide

CPA networks provide you it's offers which you can use in your content locker
So if you have your own locker people still will be completing offers from CPA networks.
CPA networks provide you the links to the offers and you use the links in your locker and send users to them.

But networks like Peerfly for example don't allow incentive marketing.. so even if I use a software like the Mighty Content Locker they could just ban me or not pay me for using one of their offers for content locking, can't they?

Yes, they can.

So you have to blank or (better) fake referrers and lie to them.

and how does that work? any good articles on that? :)
i tried the search function of this forum but i couldn't figure it out

I provide my users several detailed tutorials about referer faking, hiding the use of locker and staying under the radar. I am not sure if all the info needed is available here on BHW..

Where can I read that info? Can you send it to me? That would be awesome.

Btw another thing, did anyon try incent.ly yet? AdWork Media has rejected my application although I alrady hav several YT channels, told them exactly what I wanna do and also have experiences with other methods (POF e.g.).

Rejected?

Let me give you a tip about networks because I've never been rejected in my life, not even from peerfly (which I don't even use). LIE. Its really that simple.

Don't hint to anything that can be mistaken as even remotely unethical. Try to sound as professional as possible and use the phrase "targeted traffic" a lot. Like "I can drive lots of targeted traffic" etc etc. It doesn't matter if you can or can't. You have to sell yourself to them.

Also, one thing I like to do if possible is "reject" them. Like when listing websites, I always say something like "and then I have a few profitable local lead gen sites but I'm not listing them for security reasons. I've had accounts hacked before and even though I trust you guys its not worth the risk". Now, that's actually true in my case. But just using the phrase "its not worth the risk" is powerful. Telling a network indirectly, that you don't trust them, is powerful. Whatever you do, NEVER BEG.

As far as content lockers go, don't go insane man. Seriously. Its like putting a form on your website for the first time. It always seems hard when reading/asking about it but when you sit down and do it, you realize its not as hard as it once seemed.

If I was you, I'd start off with a free WP plugin to do it. Then once you have a decent volume of traffic, switch to a paid one for conversions. But don't go crazy reading about stuff. Too many people do that and drive themselves crazy, then don't take any action.

AdWorkMedia just accepted me after I talked to them, so no problem.
I guess I will go with them at first because incent.ly doesn't have a content locker script yet.
Is it recommendable to go with email submits to unlock the content?

I'd still be interested on how to use offers from non-incentive networks to content lock without them knowing.

Also, is content locking really THE method to make profit from YT? I read also in Warriorforum, there most people said that normal promotion works better. I'm planning to content lock Ebooks I wrote myself for a start.

Yep defo use email submits!

Hmmm, well with AdWorkMedia, you only have Incentive offers, so you will need to join another CPA Network for Non-Incentive offers.

Yep its great for YT. People from WF also tell you to buy their strung out crappy WSO's.

Good Luck :)

Thank you :)

But I meant usin non-incentive offers for content locking.. Peerfly or other networks for example don't allow content locking, but I heard you can fake the referrer... I guess a lot of people do that, otherwise it wouldn't be necessary to buy a CL software, right?

And: Yes, I wanna start with email submits to unlock the content- But isn't there a LOT of scrubbing?

also is it true that you cannot handpick offers on adwork media?

Content - locking = Locking content.
User has to complete an offer before accessing whatever you're offering and you get paid for each offer that gets completed.
