How does buying Instagram accounts work?

Hi, noob question but do I have to use an Instagram account wholesale after I buy it? Can I buy an account with a few hundred followers, delete the posts, change the username and begin uploading my own personal content? Or will my followers all unfollow me after not recognising the username? Thanks!

You'll lose a TONS of followers and engagement, that's for sure.

Yeah generally what happens unless you're buying like a 10k+ acc. BUt you still lose alot

why the hell would you buy a small account like that? you can get those few hundred followers in a few days, buying an acc like that wouldn't make too much sense even without the things you listed above
if you re-brand an acc, you should always count on unfollowing, your fear is real

don't buy small accounts it's waste of money, 1 week ago I made new instagram and already got 5.5k followers

Yes, most of the followers will go especially if you change the niche completely, try to get one in the same niche and they might remain, other than that, don't see any reason why you wouldn't start a new account, except if you want an older one for some reason and it's cheap.
