So, except for the smart-ass remarks 'you write articles'.

How would i implement a blog in to my website im branding, is it there to pick up more content for google searches? Or do i want to use my blog to outsource to say, amazon with products?

Better yet, is a blog best off being used purely as it's own entity and outsourcing to amazon affiliates?

We'd all love to make money; and you spend/invest to create income in business, but im a father of 2 and a stay at home dad, i've run brick and mortar companies in the past, online businesses are a different ball game and just looking for the great minds of BHW to maybe answer some questions on this :) I've taken a look through the section, but still in a grey area of where a blog is best, and can i increase a websites traffic to create more conversions/sales.

Not to sound blunt, but why don't you do something that you are good at rather than learning something new and putting your livelihood at risk?
Just curious!

Running a business, the grafting and the hard work isnt new to me. While im growing my brand; im learning of blogging and how it's used. Knowledge is power.

But, do you have any insight to my questions?

Well, I am not a pro blogger or something. However, I'd suggest you basic stuff and the most important one. CONTENT
Your content will get you a long way in the SEO game. Unique, Relevant and Quality content is what you'll have to focus. You'll have to device a content strategy carefully. Use appropriate tags, images, videos. A lot of Social signals, referrers and a few quality backlinks.
I could write on and on.. but eventually you'll have to figure out what works best for you.
That's all I have to say.

Simply put, a blog is used to generate traffic to your site. What you do with that traffic -- generate brand awareness, refer to affiliate offers, etc. -- is entirely up to what you're trying to achieve. For example, if the blog is for a business, then you would want to use it to funnel visitors to sales pages.

You'll attract visitors with the content of your blog along with proper advertising techniques such SEO, paid advertising, social media outreach and so on. It doesn't matter if blog is a standalone website or it's just paired to your current website (blog.mywebsite.com) as long as it gets traffic. You can use your blog to generate traffic, to redirect that traffic to sales page(s) or just to write random stuff about a random niche or how was the coffee at a local cafe.

Thanks everyone for the responses, it is what i thought. Money talks, but im wondering if it's smart to redirect people to Amazon with some products mentioned in Blogs, great i get an affiliate earning for doing so & upon purchase. Am i lowering conversions of people shopping with me and just staying on Amazon.

It depends on what your main goal is. Building a connection with your traffic happens both through quality as well as giving them options to stay connected with you. Everything from push notifications to building a list can help.

As for conversions themselves it depends on your niche and the products. Razors/grooming traffic is different than maternity clothes.

Also don’t under estimate the power of diverse types of content.

Blogging is all about what you know about a particular thing. The more knowledge you have, better it will be for you to write a blog on it.

blogging can work for most niches you just have to get a niche , add unique content, seo and start earning

I say write about something that you like, this way the reader will be able to notice your passion and content quality which might easily result in the bloc success in the end!

I use my blog for brand awareness. Also I try to write only high-quality content that will be interesting for my target audience.

Look up Neil Patel and read some of his blog posts. He blogs about why you need a blog and provides lots of good statistics so you can form a basic understanding of what a great blog can do for your business. If you do want to write an awesome blog, emulate his style and format. Basically, it's an inbound marketing strategy to grow an audience that you can then sell to further down the line.

Good luck!

hey there! i think blogging is just something you do as in making articles and journals about the things you are representng.

Quick tip: make sure all of your content are hashtagged (using one name and hash tag it on all your social media pages), this is so google can find you and make it appear on their search. goodluck :)

You should see clearly why you want to start a blog. What is it about and what's your goal?
Do you plan to sell anything or just share some useful information with your readers?
If you want to monetize your blog with Adsense or other platforms you will need traffic and to get traffic your website must be well optimized (read about SEO on this forum).
You can also earn from affiliate links (affiliate programs section).
So there are many ways to earn, choose your niche and make up a plan of your actions, content strategy and content distribution for more traffic.

Narrow down your niche. I don't know about the others but I find it is highly effective when you pick an area that you can relate to. For example, since you are a stay at home father of two, blogging about women's fashion and makeup will not look very convincing unless you are a fashion designer of sorts. Perhaps a blog on DIY home toolkits would sound more feasible.

1 ) Find a good keyword
2 ) Setup a blog and publish it with quality content
3 ) Make some backlinks to the website and keep posting quality content
4 ) Once you rank for your keyword display ads using Adsense.
