How does backlink finder sites (like backlinkwatch) find your backlinks of your websites, I mean how does they work? Do you have any idea?

They have bots that trawl through sites and count links to external domains. When you do a backlink search for your domain, it pulls together a list from their database of all sites that link to your domain.

They have crawlers/spiders/bots that crawl the web and capture the data.
Those that don't use their own bots use the API's of other services.

a really massive string of bots working together to find anything related to your site URL based on various engines.

ahrefs has a few petabytes I am sure, so yeah, tons of data.
