How does aXXo earn money?

It shouldn't matter if aXXo is making money or not, if you benefited from him/them by saving a few dollars on a movie without really giving anything back in return, then you should thank him/them.

btw, the real rep and fame not comes from the torrents.. aXXo is crap p2p, nice rels i agree.. but the quality is comes from the warez scene, not from the torrents..

and sceners can make real hot cash running 0sec ftps, upto 2000$ per week if its real hardcore.. if someone payseller.. of course the real faces are do it for fun and for the tradition and friendships which are longer than 20years for now, Razor1911 and FLT for eaxmple. Me said.

What ever happened to crackz...are they outlawed ? I cant seem to find any good ones and you have to be careful of running into booby traps sites with bad ad-aware.
 
Old thread, but guys like this shouldn't be admitting to any earnings, even if they are making some from torrents - as that's some dicey legal ground to be profiting on.
 
I am sure he is just one of these guys that does it for the celebrity.
 
I think he made shit loads of money.....Thats why he modestly said.."i didnt make any money"--Thats what i would do...If i made millions...:D
 
I think that they are earning from banner ads and pop-up, pop unders:)
 
If i am owner of a huge torrent site like IS0 H*nt i would probably try to give some incentives to active rippers so i can actually get the freshly ripped content uploaded exclusively to my torrent site.

But this is just my opinion.

Haven't seen anything recently from axxo-I heard he was out of the game. The new axxo is "Jaybob" He only uploads DVD rips-no cams.
 
I agree that AXXO dropped out. I remember briefly in 2005 he had a blog up that had google ads on it and people were passing it around the torrent forums that you should help him out and click it. This was actually how I found out about google ads.

Then shortly after that he stopped posting regularly and it was reported on several torrent sites that this was because he came very close to being caught by the movie cops. Probably because they tried to chase his google bucks down.

There have been so many new "axxo" since then I lost count at KLAXXON .

Uhhh... If he/they did that, the aXXo name would have never gained any sort of credibility. Think about it.

See.. some people just do things for other motivations then money. Get it?

The vibe I always got off AXXO was that he had a job somewhere in the Hollywood machine that allowed him access to these rips and he was releasing them like that just to satisfy some inner need or maybe he was an axxhole?

I read a whole theory once where someone swore they figured out it was some agent who was angry with a few key studio people and was releasing their films. That really can not be though because he did it to all of Hollywood not just a couple of studios.
 
i think i can also open these kind of toorent sites b/c i lived in Pakistan where no rule apply on internet. How much investment needed to open such sites
 
Its true the visitors want free stuff. But that doesnt mean they arent monetizable. How about "Free IP" and similar? And on the other hand the warezsites I know always have ads like "Rapidshare is fast and cheap" or ads for such things like usenet.
So if they want free stuff they probably want more than average visitors the free ipods and similar. And most of them have money and tend to buy rapidshare premium to load faster. Its even some kind of status to have a premium account. You should hear how premiumuser speaks with freeloaders... Rapidshare couldnt find a better ad-campaign than this users...

So I think it should be possible to make money.

But i can imagine that some choose not to earn money to dont get into the next criminal league of sellers of software. Its a difference if they can prove that you made money from it at court. Dont know if its different in other countries.
 
I agree with some of the original posts. there are people that get into these groups and its more of a pride thing than a make money operation.
