Hi, I intend to hire a freelancer to design and develop certain website, however I'd like to know how he will deliver his work, I don't care what framework or programming language will he use, as long as he achieve what I need bu how will he deliver to me, also how can I hire another one to integrate an API after the design is complete?
Thank you, I'll appreciate any recommendation and tips as this is my first project.

In case I need a wordpress website, do I have to give my admin dash credentials?

In the begining, dont share your wp admin panel and send any money. Let him develop the site on his server. If you satisfy with his work, send 50% money to him, once he finish the work, ask him to upload the site at your server, or you may ask backup and restore to your server by yourself and send rest money to him.

What you can do is post in Hire A Freelancer section and you will be contacted by respective developers here. Then, you can ask them whatever you want related to your service.
AFAIK, the developers deliver all the necessary files to you and you upload it to your hosting server. Although, if it's a wordpress website you want, then giving out the login details of your wordpress dashboard may be necessary.

They develop on their server and then show you. You find bugs, suggest modifications etc. Once you are satisfied, you will need to pay and dev will transfer it on your hosting server. Generally you need to give atleast 25-40 percent upfront but it really depends.

As i understand he gives you all files + install them on hosting
