Try Article writing then sell it at Fiverr or elsewhere. Some people don't mind to work for pennies $ . Like completing task at mircoworkers.com or shortTask.com

Assuming you have a domain and hosting.
You are unable to pay a content writer, so invest you own time into a blog that is of interest to yourself or at least prepare to do some extensive research.
After you have done your initial keyword research, check the quality of the content from your competition on google, is Wikipedia ranking first? Who cares, who can be bothered to read there content anyway.
Create content that blows your competition out of the water, not by writing a 3000 word article but by creating a page that is valuable to your potential readers, include pictures, include demonstrations, leave your readers thinking wow, entice discussions, create content where people in your niche see your content as the best, the most educational, where people will reference your pages in a discussion.
Spend a week coming up with an amazing piece of content and repeat each week.
Content is still king and they make it clearer with each update.

build up some cash flow by doing jobs as stated then use it to invest in other IM related ventures

Try PPD sites like sharecash and fileice. No investment expect of your dadication and time is needed to start earning with them. Than you can invest your earned money in other things.
Start small to get a domain and hosting, there is alot of ways that you can do this.
Sell your services here, on fiverr, write and submit articles to places that will pay you. Try doing PPD (sharecash, etc) try doing CPA offers with youtube, try a pay per post program.
The main advice i will give you is READ BHW. There is an overload of information available on here, find something that you think you can do and put it into action.

I started by writing articles. There are a lot of content mills and other sites that pay people to churn out articles. If you can write decently, then it is pretty easy to get on with these sites and for some of them the pay is actually pretty damn good.

Go to the hire a freelancer section of this forum and find things you can do. Once you have enough money to open a service thread ($97 for donor status + $20 for service listing), go ahead and do that if you have something of value to offer people.
Ranking websites in google is also fairly cheap as you only need $10/month for hosting and $10/year for a domain name. Believe it or not but it's actually possible to build backlinks without spending a fortune on tools.

You could create a free blogger blog and write your own unique content. Then, look up how to do SEO and do it manually. A majority of it is possible without any money. And you can do keyword research without paid tools as well, all you need to use is the Google Keyword Tool.
