How does a backlink show up as a comment?

When I create a backlink from a PBN to my money site, it shows up as a comment on my WordPress dashboard within hours. How is this possible?

That is called a trackback. You can disable trackbacks via your wordpress discussion settings.

For the PBN, suggest you put your backlink in a blog post instead of commenting. This way is more powerful for backlinking.

Wordpress sites are easy to maintain. You can change it from the discussion setting option.

I think he means that When he place a link from PBN to Moneysite then his Moneysite Dashboard shows it in Comments which is trackback... as suggested above, Just disable Trackbacks, thats it.

Its a pingback, any wordpress platform offering you a link would be registered on your backend as a comment.
