How does 360 Videos work?

Hello everyone,

I run an adult niche fetish membership website.

I currently upload HD videos to a video script in the members area.

I am looking at buying a Ricoh Theta S to do some bonus 360 videos.

I have never done 360 videos before so wondering if once I have filmed a 360 video, is it just a video file that a member will be able to download and use?

Do they have to use specific software on a computer to interact with the 360 video file?

If they wanted to play directly on a phone or tablet, do I need a specific video script to host such video files?

I have no idea where to start with this but any help/information would be much appreciated.

I don't know what your website is built on so I can't really answer that specifically ... what you could do is upload 360 videos to YouTube and set them to private

Have a members access only to where you Would have to add the verified members email for them to view... again, I can't really give a proper sonution without fully understanding how your website is built..

As for viewing it. Currently, if you have the YouTube app you can view it. There is tje VR glasses but no one really has them.

But we do know everyone almost has a Smart Phone. Sooo If you can add this in the "membership" price, you can send them a "FREE" VIrtual Reality Cardboard headset.

dont buy the ricoh theta, its garbage the camera cant record in HD. if you want 360 video try scraping some videos from youtube.
And yes 360 videos are stitched from the camera you dont need more than a special player.

Try a 4-6 gopro set up

Stitch with videostitch.com

Then edit using premiere Pro and the mettle plugin

You can host them as said above with YouTube set to private or try wistia's new 360 embed for a cooler premium look
