Can anyone give me a quick run through how to set up firefox with a password protected proxy? I know where to put the ip address and the port - but where does the username and password go?

Any help you can send my way would be much appreciated.

put the ip and the port. After that when you try to access a site, firefox will request the user and the pass

Thanks for the reply - Ive tried this in Firefox and IE and just get page can not be displayed - no prompt for a username/pw at all - am I doing something wrong? :(

If you are using private proxies and good proxy tool FF plugin (see proxytool FF plugin thread here), you need to make sure it's HTTP/HTTPS to match your private proxy HTTPS.

Private proxy with SOCKS using username/password will not WORK IN ANY BROWSERS.

Thanks for the input mate - the problem was with the proxies and not something I was doing :)
