How do you use Facebook for marketing?

I've been experimenting and I created a Facebook page for my website but only to realize that Facebook pages can't add friends. How do you market your website through Facebook if you can't add friends to your page?

You can invite friends to your page using your accounts. Once they've liked your page they will be shown on their newsfeed the content you publish on your page thus driving traffic to your site.

I guess I'm not understanding

Could you be a little more clear?

You cannot add friends with fan pages but you can have "fans" (that are now called just "likes"). If you open a fan page you will see something like "178,390 people like this": this means that this fan page has 178,390 fans or likes. Every time the admin of the fan page posts some content on its wall the users who liked that fan page (well, actually not all of them) see this content on their newsfeed (which is their home page). You can use big fan pages to promote your site, related affiliate products, etc.. etc..
This is just an example, you can do many other things too...

To get the ball rolling with fans/likes, I always make sure to add a facebook button on every page of our site, and keep the FB page itself very active and engaging.

I've never used an Adder script because commercially our facebook pages make sales and have far too much to lose if we get caught.

I may have to try it with some of my smaller side projects though, anyone know how well these scripts work?

Pretty good actually. Not for the faint of heart. Keep your commercial usage on the straight and narrow. No reason to mess with your clients work.. Great for establishing a quick presence.

4shared.com has some pretty good books to read on this. Search for 'facebook marketing'. There is also a video series in the download section called something like facebook marketing for dummies...

If anyone can provide insight on how to use friend adders to gain likes/fans let me know!

Now i made a tutorial for managing facebook accounts but i think you need a more simple tutorial.

So a fan page has likes(fans)

So in order for you to drive more fans/likes to your page.
You simply give the ppl you want to target your url. Go to the page you want to promote, now copy the URL!!!.

When you copy it any user that goes to that url and clicks likes becomes a fan of your page.

Now for promoting it , its very simple.

People create FAKE accounts in where they add friends to those accounts.

Now once you have friends you can either do various things to get fans to your page.

1. send your friends from your fake account a page suggestion
2. post the link on your fake account wall
3. send the link as a message
4. post the link on another page/group
5. post the link on the admin section or a page/group

Option 1 is done the most, option 4 is called spamming if you do it a lot.
option . And option 5 is what ppl do when they buy status updates.

The fan page is the destination, your fake accounts with friends are what needed to drive traffic to your page.

Well the easiest way to increase you fans for your page would be to get a status update from an already existing huge page. That would help you get enormous traffic.
