Well, this is an important question and I'm curious what you think, so, only relevant replies please.

Some think of Internet Marketing as a hobby, some think it's a lifestyle, others say it's a business.

Hobby - I think sitting next to PC doing your work alone makes it feel 'unprofessional' for some people.

Lifestyle - Full time IMers here, I think it's pretty good to go into IM with all you've got.

Real online business - I like to think of IM as a REAL, serious business, because it is, it's just as hard (if not even more) than any offline job. It takes brain and can make shitloads of cash using your PC only.

Well, state your opinion, what and why ?!

Thanks.

I see it as a hobby because I like doing it, work is something which I do not like doing.

Like the most serious job I might every have!

the time is now! make it happen or dont.

It's pretty much a game for me, except that I make money :)

I'm kind of surprised with the answers, lol.

Waiting for more

Can only manage part time but trying hard to be full time. I have a small business which takes up most of my time but would love to do IM instead.

I see IM as a business, like you said because it is. After per sales, support, development and promotion IM has been one of the most time consuming jobs I have ever taken on. A lot of people might say "O but all you do is sit on your computer and play all day" I just sit back and laugh at them because they have to go work to accomplish someone else's dreams everyday, when I collect payments in my sleep.

The answers will reflect the demographics of this forum, my guess is most people here still live at home and have little to no financial commitments. So the fact that many are saying it's a hobby, isn't very surprising to be frank.

I think what the difference between people who see it as a hobby or people who see it as work depends not on financial commitments but the amount of time they have to put into what they do. I could not see what I do as work, as basically I do very little.

Work is a very subjective term anyway. While some who visit this board will view it as a 100% pleasurable activity, others will visit here on a pure business basis either to sell something or gather the information they need, and then they won't visit again until they need to.

For me personally I'm somewhere in the middle of all that.

I treat it as a hobby as I'm happy when the results I've been getting with the time I've been putting in. <br>When/If I have to depend on IM for my livelihood, I'll treat it more like a business and take it more seriously.
