Hey fellow navigators,

Im a 30-year-old mariner, whose compass has spun in all directions, leaving him lost in the vast ocean of life. I have tried many destinations, visited many islands, yet the treasures of financial stability remain elusive. It's not for lack of ambition or creativity; my sails are filled with gusts of brilliant ideas and innovative pursuits. But alas, the anchor of self-discipline seems to weigh me down, leaving me drifting in circles.

You see, the rhythmic motion of the waves, the repetitive tasks of day-to-day living, can sometimes make this sailor dizzy. The horizon is vast, and while I long to reach the golden shores of success, I've often found myself adrift, feeling overwhelmed by the vastness of it all.

As an introverted soul, the ship's cabin, illuminated only by the soft glow of my computer screen, is my sanctuary. For eight years, this cabin has been my workplace, where I delved deep into the realms of research (working as a researcher) and spun visual tales as a video creator. But alas, the winds have changed, and my current voyage has ended, urging me to set sail for new adventures.

So, I cast my message in a bottle into this digital sea, hoping it reaches the shores of those who have charted their course successfully. How does one master the compass of self-discipline? How might I prioritize my adventures, ensuring I'm headed in a direction that leads to the treasures I seek? How to calm my mind?

Your insights, fellow travelers, could be the stars guiding me out of this conundrum. In this vast digital ocean, where many set sail but few find their destined ports, your wisdom might just be the lighthouse illuminating my path.

Wishing you all fair winds.

Love the way that you have phrased your question. As for self-discipline that is something that you would have to work on yourself. There are lots of people who says different methods worked for them like creating lists etc. Follow one person and learn from only that person. After getting into a proper routine you can branch out and learn form others too in case you want something else. Of course this is my personal opinion but what path you choose is totally up to you.

Pick a thing or two and stick with it. You need to grind even when you dont feel like it, and stay consistent on the same project. Switch too often and your project will never come to fruition

what ai model (or local llm) are you using? I would pay to get that kind of text! :D

Just work bro. Record your results, and adjust your next actions.

What assets do you have to market? If you have feck all, you are starting as a creator/publisher.

Once you have assets, then you can be a marketer.

Then it comes down to the first sentence again. Work. (Instead of mucking around with elusive metaphors to describe bad results)

I enjoyed the writing; it's a masterpiece. I'm not sure if it's AI-generated or if you wrote it, but it deeply resonates with me.

Now, let's discuss your question, 'How do you stay the course?'

Personally, I employ a technique akin to using Google Maps for my life's journey.

In Google Maps, you set your destination and your current location, then hit 'Start.' Subsequently, Google guides you with directions, turns, U-turns, and the route until you reach your intended destination.

Imagine this scenario: Google Maps instructs you to take a right turn, but you decide to ignore it. What happens next? Does it scold you, curse you, or abandon you? No, it calmly directs you to the next exit or turn, ensuring you get back on the right path toward your destination.

The same principle applies to life. We establish our goals and targets, working diligently and steadily toward them. However, life often throws challenges our way, or we may become lazy, causing us to veer off course.

What should we do in such situations? Berate ourselves? Succumb to depression?

No, we need to envision our destination, goal, or target, just as with Google Maps, and take the next available U-turn to get back on track.

Work when you feel you dont like it, and dont feel bad if you miss couple of days of no-work
Every little thing is part of a journey. Just keep going

I thought so, too, but some of the information in the OP is consistent with things the user posted in previous years.

The Route is very very known:

E, S, B, I

Employee - Work your ass off - 12 hours a day. Make money
Small Business - Open a Small Business That relates to the Skills that you have - Work atleast 12-14 Hours a day on that for 1 Year before even thinking on quitting.
Big Business / Investors - Assets are the Key and not Liabilities

When one casts a plea into the vast digital ocean, one can only hope that it reaches kindred spirits who understand the ebb and flow of uncertainty. And indeed, this community did not disappoint.

Dropping that post here was like sending out an SOS from a tiny island, and you all just came through with the rescue boats.

First off, a big ol' THANK YOU to everyone who chimed in with your thoughts. Honestly, it means the world to a dude just trying to find his way.

@RoiBox and @roydan, you are shiny stars! Those threads you pointed me to? Not just informational, but transformational. Especially you, @roydan - 'Shiny Object Syndrome'? It's like you handed me the name for the ghost I've been chasing.

Time to charting new waters.
