How do you stay positive?

The most positive thing I ever did was go traveling. Don't sit in one place wasting precious time when you could be having fun. You need to keep a balance. There's always time enough to do IM, fun is often the more important thing to do.

- Take a break from what is not giving the desired result. Change of scenery might refresh your mind.
- Do some sort of sport or go to the gym. Exercise might re energize.
- Read blogs / forum about your subject matter; especially from people whom have been a success in what ever you want to be doing.
- Go out and find a girl/boy friend and release it all in a aggressive bed session. :P
- Eat good food
- Remap your goals and get organised so you have better idea of what you should be focusing on
- Clean up your work space or where ever you are doing your work.
Great advice! Lots of good stuff everyone, I really took a lot from this thread already and I'm going to implement it into my life.

Something that people keep recommending is exercising, which I've neglected for so long. I'm going to find a nice place to go run every morning. :)

The biggest thing is remember if you have a good process, then sticking to it is what matters, results will come.

Success comes from sacrifice.
Check these out on youtube
"Eric Thomas on Struggle Sacrifice and Success"
"Wills Wisdom"

If you combine those, you will get this. You have to work harder than the next guy, you have to do what others are unwilling to do. you have to sacrifice what you are for what you want to be, maybe go out one less night a week and work on your business, etc. And you will also get that its about the process, Will's Wisdom talks about building a brick wall, that is about what I originally said, focus on doing the process perfectly and the results will follow. Will says he has to lay the next brick as perfectly as possible, don't think about the next one, its the one your working on right this second.

Well, for me it all started after watching a movie called "The secret".
Call it placebo, but I could see differences in how people react to me a day after watching it and since then I have never looked back.

You beat me to it! I was just gonna post this. That is a great documentary!

Hello BHW! There's some days that it's completely difficult for me to stay positive regarding work I'm doing. I've been very negative lately and figured out that I just have a negative outlook to begin with.

What are some ways to remain positive? Recommend some books and audio books if you can!

There was some lecture some guy gave; I can't remember where or who or any other details.

But basically, he said that your thought processes are self-reinforcing. When you think negative, you are sort of "exercising" the neural pathways that lead to negative thought. Same thing otherwise: if you think positive, you are "exercising" the positive neural pathways which lead to feelings of motivation and accomplishment. Whether you think postive or think negative, you will find your feelings reciprocating that.

Whenever you get negative thoughts, try to push them away. That isn't saying you should ignore any negative situations which come up in life; you still need to deal with them. But instead of thinking "this is so terrible, what am I gonna do? This is going to ruin my whole life..." try to think something like "this isn't so bad; I'll get to work on fixing this." Over time, you'll find that instead of feeling depressed and unmotivated in the face of adversity, you'll be fired up and ready to overcome whatever life throws at you.

You Be You

If done right a smile can change the energy in the toughest of situations.

If it's work finish that sucker out like a well played game of Frogger. Maybe try and outsource.

take some nootropics...like NZT for example

when I feel like enough with IM I play games , when I loose I do IM again simple as that

I picked up skating 2 months ago and damn is it fun. Any time I'm stressed out I'll head out to Central Park out here in NYC and skate around. It's a stress relief and a lot of fun for me. I would find a physical activity that you find fun and do that a few times a week you'll notice a difference.

Talk to your best friend :) Or with anyone in your family whom you loves the most.
What you need is to talk about your issues with someone..That is it !

The main thing that helped me with it was reading a book titled "The Magic of Thinking Big" by David J Schwartz.
Totally changed the way I view the world, treat other people and get treated. It's actually a really interesting book as well due to the amount of examples and stories in it, of successful people of course :)

hi, you should get relax for some time and shift focus more on job. You should get busy with your work and avoid all negative thoughts.

why on earth you want to stay positive?you like fooling yourself? you may not reach anything even if you stay positive your entire life...I'd say just remember what the goal (the picture) is and spend energy to move forward and accept things how they really are...your depressed, that's something you just need to deal with it...only time could really fix it....

focus on making smartest moves ever you could make considering the situation and stuff ...you'll get back on track sooner you couldn't think of...that move could be just doing nothing for a while...this is where imagination is so useful...

You don't set out to build a wall. You set out to place a brick. And this brick is going create the biggest baddest wall!
