How do you stay organized?

you may benefit from tool like https://alternativeto.net/software/storurl/about/ or https://alternativeto.net/software/linkstash/about/
import all your browser bookmarks
scan for dead links/301
quickly filter, sort them out with drag and drop into folders
export back into browser
i have 5k+ bookmarks. helped me big time to lighten the burden on my browser and mind.

Yeah I don't have that many bookmarks haha. I have maybe about 40 right now (I cleaned up recently) :p

I've made it a habit to write down all important stuff in a notepad
Otherwise, i'd have to think about the same thing over and over again to make sure I don't forget it

Oh yeah that too I forgot.

When I started trying to make money online, I'd - try to - remember everything, because #Genius

But then I'd forget shit. So I started noting things down in notepad. Like when I'd think of something I should or want or have to do, but don't wanna do it right now, I'd write it down in a notepad file. And I still do this.

Simple: Notepad(s). I note everything is important (when/who/what/where) and save in the right folder. When I travel, I save the things (in a passworded archive :) ) on a USB stick (few days before the travel, because I may forget to do it in the last minute) and take it with me.

Just forgot to initliaze clockify.

Downloaded obsidian app mentioned by Uncutu.

Looks good.

Currently noting every single project/feature idea in google keep.
but I recently had this idea to build a single dashboard where I regroup everything: notes, reminders, courses, assets, boilerplates for projects, knowledge base etc...

I tried different apps but notepads are working better for me.

I'm using the ones from the attached pic, 1 more for monthly payments and 1 more for general/debts payments

I usualy move things from temp work.txt to daily.txt

Edit: I also wrote a simple app but it's still easier for me with notepads. (attached a pic)

So I put everything into one folder on my desktop. It's called "treeview".

I moved all the projects there: all notes, hotkey scripts, seo reports, tutorials, research stuff.

Everything has its own place. The structure allows to get to anything in less than 20 seconds without thinking.

The key is to open that "treeview" folder inside editor like visual studio code and browse from there using treeview.

One big benefit is that I can open treeview -> projects -> one project + second project within the same window. If I need to, I can go to 3rd, 4th and even 20th project within the same window. I use terminals built into it and it's even less mess.

Naming stuff properly is very important too. For example, you want to know you bought some projects, you downloaded some projects and you have your own projects, so I created more subfolders to be more explicit.

Before I had 20 windows open (imagine switching between all of these on 22 inch monitor). Now I have 4 windows open.

Copying stuff from one project to another goes like a knife through hot butter.

Now I added obsidian on top of that which lets me connect notes easily and I have these notes within the treeview catalogue as well.

And now my notes are organized too. There's a place for food, everyday notes with dates, documentation, development stuff, market resaerch and more.

Now I'll be able to link stuff together and use these notes to write content and so on. I won't forget these unique ideas.

I only don't know how to keep my content on the internet organized. These days keywords won't do it. I think there's no "the best way".
I need to start thinking like a marketer now.

I use Notion to organize everything from my business stuff to life.
I love how I can put every aspect of running a business(kinda a bird's view) in different categories in a single page - that, in turn, can link to actual subpages. Super effective to have a overall feel of all the things - from leads to finance to pending things.

And, Todoist for reminding myself about recurring and important tasks that I shouldn't miss.

To be honest, I'm keeping a Sublime Text window always open. That's all I need.

Each line is a task.

When something urgent shows up, I'm just adding another line. When the task is urgent, I would add it on top of the list.

I'm on a Mac, and Sublime Text keeps the info although I close the window accidentally. It's autosaving.

If I need to add a note, I just add it after the task's title. Sometimes there are more than one notes, so I just keep on adding.

But I don't think the software is the problem. It's an inner thing. I'm working from early morning to late in the evening. But this is not everything I do, because you see, I have 3 little girls to take care of. So they require time. When I come back to my computer, I check my tasks and keep going.

I have never taken organization as a thing.

What I know is that I have to solve issues, and I do. When I can't deal with all of them, I'm trying to reduce the tasks - less clients, for example. But I don't remember last time I could'nt keep up.

It's all in your head, I'm 100% positive.

Not about tools, kids, or anything else. Do as much as you can. Keep fresh. Don't assume you can do more "because you can".

TikTik is a nice one too.
You must be kidding me, sir.

I used adblock to block most parts of facebook and youtube.

No comments, no groups, no algos. I use only search when I need something.

Feels good.

Now I only need to find 10 clients paying $1 per word of sales copy.

Couldn't get you. My bad, I meant TickTick when I said TikTik, not TikTok. Search for TickTick in Playstore.

It depends on how complex the thing I might be working on is. But I mostly use notes or trello.
It's not easy though and I'm not always consistent.

For me I plan, and priortize.

I do this by writing down all I have to do during the day as soon as a I wake up and apportion time to them.

Also I leave for extra time, just incase there's a change in plan or one thing I thought will be done by say 20 mins takes a longer time to get completed.

At the end of the day, I audit and look and see where and what needed to be taken to the next day.

What do I need to do to not forget that I have schedule? Something that would tell me to enable all this stuff and actually keep it open.

I guess I need a script on my desktop to click it once and open all this stuff being unable to disable it.

That's a killer idea.

How do I limit these things I can do on my computer? Anyone have done that?

Things such as lock your browser and lock a card or be unable to open a program before 6 pm.

I use sticky notes (physical) and write my tasks by priorities and stick them on the monitor. the advice may look simple but works well. :)
