What is the best option to choose? I want to give him freedom with writing & Yoast SEO.
Question is, which option is the safest one ? I don't want him to have any option to delete / change passwords.

If you don`t trust someone, do not give him access, maybe it`s a black hat hidden in him. Best way tell him to work offline, or on other wp then you import articles. But you as many of us think too far for such a small situation.

Then give him as an author. He will be able to do whatever with his own posts and nothing else.

Author should be fine. As the other poster said, get them to write and send you text articles via mail. You can then add them mnaually.

The best solution to your problem would be to simpy talk to your customer reps on whatever hosting platform your using. They know everything and some about their hosting provider
