How Do You Sell Wordpress Website?

Does anyone know the steps needed to sell a wordpress website?

What do you send the buyer? (back up of database, wp-content folder, .htaccess, and wp-config.php, what else?)

Which of these databases do you send?

Cpanel = Files = Backups = Download a MySQL Database Backup (example_wrdp1)

Or is it:

Cpanel = Files = Backups = Download a Home Directory Backup ("Home Directory", under "Partial Backups" inside cpanel)

Would all the plugins, content, affiliate codes, etc. on the website transfer automatically to the new buyer? And he could just upload it, then everything is activated and ready to go? (Would he have to manually then change the affiliate codes to his own, etc.? The affiliate codes are within hyperlink words, example "Click Here", then opens in a new window)

Would I also just remove my google analytics before sending the owner the database, wp-content, etc.?

Lastly, would I just cancel my hosting when everything is emailed to the new buyer, and that's it?

Do a full backup of the site. That includes the directory and DB files. The directory will contain all of the plugins, themes, etc. The DBs will contain the settings and content.

There's a plugin created for this. I can't remember the name, but you can surely find it by googling.

He could also have his hosting move the site they might do it for free.

I think if you use bluehost you can built it on a temp url they provide and when complete they will just move it over for you. GoDaddy I dont think offers that.

I would supply them with all of the above mentioned and in the case of using specific plugins or a theme framework that supports importing .dat pages to restore the settings in the dashboard. I personally build all wp sites ontop of Thesis aswell.

GoDaddy will take care of it all for a small fee. If you plan on selling a bunch it is best to buy a package deal.

I dont see why you would have to cancel your hosting. Just start up a new Wp site.
