how do you run a virtual machine in a virtual machine

hey there i was trying to run a vmware workstation vm in my vmware fusion with windows 7 and i got an error saying i had to reconfigure my main virtual machine to run esx machines. I don't know how to do that and i can't find anything online about it. Any help would be great.

I left VMWare 4 years ago. use VirtualBox instead. Smaller footprint plus its free.
 
I've thought about using virtualbox but I already have my vm's setup with vmware. Is there anyway to convert the vm's or will they work with it anyway.

On serious note +1 to VirtualBox.
 
I have used virtualbox inside vmware. It worked for me when i installed this way - Win 7(Host) - Win XP (First vm-image vmware)- Ubuntu (2nd vm-image virtualbox).

I will give it a shot. I just hate that im gonna have to rebuild a vm but oh well.
 
where is the point to do such ? to use second level guest OS ? it's not helping with nothing lol ...
