I was thinking of getting one of those Amazon Kindles hxxp://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_ss_kinh?url=search-alias%3Delectronics&field-keywords=ebook+reader&x=0&y=0 or the Sony PRS-505. Does anyone here use these Digital Book Readers, or recommend any particular model?

i just use adobe reader, its free @ adobe.com and will allow you to read anyhting ya got here....

I have the Sony Reader PRS-505.

What do you want to use it to read mainly?

Amazon Kindle DOESN'T support .pdf files well, so if you read alot
of IM documents like I do, Kindle is a no-no.

i use my computer to read it:):biggthump

I cant read 100 page ebooks from a LCD computer screen, thanks for that gnak, so have you had any issues with your Sony and pdf files?

Well I've read many 100 page ebooks on my LCD computer screen :)

What's your main purpose for wanting one?

I love my PRS; just not using it as much as I'd like to make it really
worthwhile, since I seem to always be reading on my laptop.

But when I'm travelling, I do listen to music and read ebooks/reports
from there.

I'm not the kind to BUY novels online, so I mainly use it for IM education
purposes.

It ain't all that cheap either, so your main purpose in buying really does
matter alot.

ebooks, save money on paper, i cant really read a whole book from a computer screen, without getting eye strain.

I tend to read bits and pieces from all over. I do miss reading off of paper though.

You've gotta read a whole darn lot before the money you spend
on your reader equals the money you spend on paper.

But go ahead and get one if you can afford it.

I think you'll love it.
