How do you protect your articles from being copied?

Is there a way to make my articles/posts copyrighted? I'm a noob. Sorry.

Follow the below steps to prevent your website content from being copied:

1. Disable right click function: Below is a link which will help you disable right click function

2. Disable Text Selection: Check the below link

3. DMCA Copyrighted banner added to your website

4. Google Authorship: This will help Google know that you are the actual owner of the content posted on your website. Check below link for more info.

5. Check once in a week if any of your content is copied, If Yes Send DMCA Notice:
To check Plagiarism you can use Copyscape, Plagiarism Duplichker or PlagSpotter. These are some of the popular tools.

OP, helped you lot already. No need to worry about the copycats. If he/she will copy your content then, they will get a good credit from Google. They will not get any real benefits from that..

. Even if they spin those articles.

Seriously DoubleD3. That was some really helpful stuff.

That being said, like techxan said, someone is going to find a way to steal it. There is no way to 100% prevent copy from being stolen.

What DoubleD3 gave you though is as thorough in protecting yourself as I've ever seen though so do that.

If you have good original content, someone is going to copy it. But I'm sure G will penalize the copier instead of you because his content is posted after yours.

DMCA is the way to go but again, you cannot guarantee no one would copy. You will have to constantly monitor things.

If the content is online,its hardly next to nothing you could do to protect it.some steps might be taken to somehow minimize it but not completely protect it .

I am happy that it helped.. & it is even true that there is no way to 100% protect your content.. But, One thing is for sure that if U follow my info he/she who steals your content will not be able to benefit in terms of ranking in Google using your content..

I agree with this one.

But, if your site is an aged, well-maintained with updated and fresh content website, I would not mind too much if someone is actually copying you. Your "authoriship" is what that counts.

Well that's a helping hand from DoubleD3, thanks for the share.
Its not that possible to protect your content once it went online, but your content will be treated as source content, so you don't need to worry about it.

As pointed out you can run scripts that prevents visitors from copying content. It's unlikely somebody would go through the hassle, just for your content.. Even if it's exceptionally good and worth the hassle to copy, then you probably already would have gotten credit for it.

Step 4(Google Authorship) on DoubleD3's reply is important. Don't publish contents without it especially if it is a super helpful and quality contents.
