If someone came up to me and said "My Sequel" I think I might look at them like they were retarded. i just say the letters SQL, so does everyone i know lol

I say My Ace Queue Ale. However, I know many say sequel. The thing is, it is an acronym. It does not matter how you pronounce it.
Also, like someone else said, what matters the most is how good you are in it... not how you spell it lol.
I call MySQL, My-S-Q-L but MSSQL just sequel, it seemed fairly normal with all the DB folk I've worked except one who called it squeal. I was giving a presentation once and said SATA (sahta like Nasa) everyone found my funny accident hilarious saying it should be pronounced SATA (sayta like Nato). I had the last laugh when I phoned sata-io.org on speaker during the presentation and although none of us were completely right (its serial ata) they call it SATA (sahta like Nasa).

I always pronounce it as S.Q.L. To tell you the truth, I have never heard someone calling it sequel.

During ancient times of .. 2009, beginner me did a mistake of registering and renting a server with mysql. the webpackage I received was an ugly dotnet website and it didnt work. I misheard mssql as mysql and made the company lose money. So nowadays I say my es que ell mariadb
