I would like to hear from individual people. When you were starting and even now if you got a little bit bigger, how did(do) you promote your YouTube channel?
Is it through your other social pages, friends, online networks? Do you get creative about it?

Please share, because I'm getting started and I hate those generic online articles that repeat most generic approaches. I'd like to hear from personal experiences

The key thing is great videos.. then find audience that are interested to your niche.
What best worked for me is a youtube community post(image + video link + text) from a channel with the same niche.

well if you wanted to promote your youtube channel i can help you with it

I have a animation channel. I focus on video title description and video tag. And i continuously upload video one month and I got 10k subscriber within 2 month. Without any promotion. From that I learned your content must be unique and professional then YouTube automatically boost your video.

So people found you just like that?

What works is promoting the videos themselves and not the channel. Also make sure to post regular content (like once a day or once a week). The more active your channel is, the more relevant it is in the algorithm. It's also a good idea to stick to one niche on the channel rather than trying more than one. And make sure to invite people to subscribe (or join if you have a membership) and to upvote the videos as sometimes yhou need to tell the audience to do it for them to actually do it.

For a long video, it should be interesting and engaging enough to keep your audience watching till the end. You can do some social media promotion.

Maybe I should have mentioned, I create videos in my own language, not english. So market is not the whole world

Promoting a new YouTube channel requires a combination of strategic planning, consistent content creation, and effective marketing efforts. Here are some tips to help you promote your new YouTube channel:
  1. Create High-Quality Content: Start by creating content that is valuable, engaging, and relevant to your target audience. Invest time in planning your videos, scripting if necessary, and ensure high production quality in terms of video and audio.
  2. Optimize Your Channel: Optimize your YouTube channel for search by using relevant keywords in your channel description, video titles, tags, and video descriptions. This will help your videos rank better in YouTube search results and attract more viewers.
  3. Consistency is Key: Be consistent with your uploading schedule. Whether it's once a week, twice a week, or more, stick to a schedule so your audience knows when to expect new content from you.
  4. Engage with Your Audience: Respond to comments on your videos, engage with your viewers on social media platforms, and encourage them to subscribe to your channel and turn on notifications for new uploads.
  5. Collaborate with Other YouTubers: Collaborating with other YouTubers in your niche can help expose your channel to a new audience. Look for opportunities to collaborate on videos or cross-promote each other's channels.
  6. Utilize Social Media: Share your videos on your social media platforms such as Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and LinkedIn. You can also join relevant groups or communities related to your niche and share your videos there.
  7. Optimize Video Thumbnails and Titles: Create eye-catching thumbnails and compelling titles for your videos to increase click-through rates and attract more viewers.
  8. Use Calls to Action (CTAs): Encourage viewers to like, comment, subscribe, and share your videos. Include CTAs within your videos and video descriptions to prompt engagement.
  9. Run YouTube Ads: Consider running YouTube ads to reach a larger audience. You can use TrueView ads, which allow viewers to skip the ad after a few seconds, or non-skippable ads for maximum exposure.
  10. Monitor Analytics and Iterate: Keep an eye on your YouTube Analytics to understand what types of content perform best and which strategies are driving the most engagement. Use this data to refine your content and promotion strategies over time.
Remember that building a successful YouTube channel takes time and patience. Stay consistent, listen to your audience, and continuously refine your approach based on feedback and data.
That sounds great but looks like AI wrote it xD
Honestly looks like very generic steps that can be found easily by googling

Promoting your YouTube channel through related pages, groups, and communities on social media can be an effective way to reach your target audience. However, it's essential to approach promotion in a way that adds value to the community rather than coming across as spammy. Here's a strategic approach you can take:

  1. Identify Relevant Groups and Pages: Look for Facebook groups, subreddits, LinkedIn groups, and other online communities that are related to your YouTube channel's niche. Join these groups/pages where your target audience is likely to be active.
  2. Engage with the Community: Before promoting your YouTube channel, take some time to engage with the community. Participate in discussions, offer helpful advice, and establish yourself as a valuable member of the group. This builds credibility and makes your promotion more genuine.
  3. Share Valuable Content: Instead of simply dropping your YouTube link, share valuable content from your channel that provides real value to the community. It could be a helpful tip, a snippet from your latest video, or a teaser that piques interest without being overly promotional.
  4. Ask for Feedback: Engage with the community by asking for feedback on your YouTube videos. This not only helps you improve your content but also encourages members to check out your channel and provide constructive criticism.
  5. Create Meaningful Connections: Connect with other members of the group or page who share similar interests. Building relationships with influencers or active members can lead to organic promotion opportunities in the future.
  6. Participate in Theme Days or Events: Many groups/pages host theme days or events where members can promote their own content. Take advantage of these opportunities to share your YouTube videos, but make sure to follow the group/page rules and guidelines.
  7. Be Transparent and Respectful: When sharing your YouTube links, be transparent about your intentions and avoid deceptive or clickbait tactics. Respect the rules of the group/page and don't spam with repetitive posts.
  8. Offer Value First: Before promoting your own content, focus on providing value to the community. Answer questions, share helpful resources, and engage with other members' content. This builds trust and makes your promotional efforts more effective.
  9. Cross-Promote with Other Creators: Collaborate with other creators in your niche to cross-promote each other's content. This can help you reach a wider audience and gain more exposure for your YouTube channel.
  10. Track Results and Adjust Strategies: Keep track of your promotion efforts and monitor metrics like engagement, click-through rates, and subscriber growth. Adjust your strategies based on what's working and what's not to optimize your promotional efforts over time.
Remember that effective promotion is about building relationships, providing value, and engaging authentically with your target audience. By following these tips, you can promote your YouTube channel in a way that resonates with your audience and drives meaningful results.
